Bibb County School District’s high school graduation rate increased in 2023 to 87.07% from 80.98% in 2022 – an all-time high for the District since the state began using the adjusted cohort calculation required by federal law with the Class of 2012. In fact, each of Bibb County’s seven schools not only demonstrated increases in graduation rate in 2023 compared to 2022, but for the first time ever all seven schools scored a graduation rate of at least 80% or higher.

“I am super proud of all our schools and this entire district for our 87.07% graduation rate. Such a great deal of hard work went in last year – and not just last year, but over the years – to get us to this fantastic graduation rate, and we’re just excited as to what it means for those students who go on to do great things,” said Superintendent Dr. Dan A. Sims.

For the first time ever, the Bibb County School District's graduation rate exceeded the state graduation rate! Georgia's graduation rate for the Class of 2023 is 84.4%.

The District’s overall graduation rate has increased about 35 percentage points in the past decade, up from an overall District graduation rate of 52.3% in 2012. A standout for the District is Central High School, earning the District’s highest ever graduation rate of 96.41% for the Class of 2023.
