Dr. Cleveland Johnson

Dr. Johnson has nearly 20 years of experience deeply rooted in curriculum, instruction and leadership. He has served as an elementary teacher, a literacy coach, a math and science District Facilitator for K-8, Assistant Principal, Acting Director of Gifted, Advanced Studies and ESOL and an elementary principal. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Gordon College where he taught Critical & Contemporary Issues in Education and Exploring Teaching & Learning. He has a Doctorate in Educational Administration K-12 from Georgia Southern University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Duke University. He is well versed in curriculum writing and has worked with teachers on the revision of curriculum and assessments. He has conducted numerous presentations at the state level. Additionally, he is LETRS certified and has implemented the district's initiative of Get Better Faster. He has served on the ESOL Advisory Board  and has been instrumental in assisting with the Aspiring Leaders programs. Currently, he is the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning and is honored to serve the students, teachers, and leaders of Bibb County School District.
