Our school nurse, Nurse Knight, is now with us all day every day! We are glad to welcme her to the everyday that is Westside. She'll like it here. How do I know? Because she already likes it here! Now, she's here every day.

**Students may use phones before school, during the student's assigned lunch, and after school.
**All other times, including during transitions, the student's phone should be out of sight. Visible phones will be collected.
**Using computer USB ports or wall sockets to charge student phones is not permitted. Phones being charged will be collected.
**Collected phones will be secured. Students may recover phones after school dismissal the following Monday.

Westside is proud to present our Star Student for 2016-17, Mr. Jacob Mulli. Pictured here at the BCSD Star Student banquet with his mother Ms. Nancy Midimmo (C), Senior Counselor Ms. Cathy Denson (R), and Principal Dr. Julia Daniely (standing). Jacob Mulli, a dual enrollment student who has a love for mathematics plans to attend Columbia University in the fall and major in Statistics. Jacob selected his AP Calculus teacher, Ms. Avila, as STAR teacher. Ms. Avila currently lives in another city and was not able to attend.
Teacher of the Year 2016-17
This exemplary educator is a former Westside student who has returned to develop his career as a professional educator. His academic portfolio includes a Bachelor of Arts in English from Fort Valley State University, followed by a Master of Arts in Teaching at Georgia College and State University.
His personal leadership and motivational skills have quickly led him to Language Arts Department Chair, Westside’s Leadership Team, as well as organizational and leadership responsibility for many special programs at Westside. Mr. Nichols maintains high personal standards, as well as high academic standards for his students, as he states “I believe in the capabilities of ALL students and I am persuaded that ALL students can learn.”
