Ms. Chanda O. WilliamsAssistant Principal
I am fortunate to be a legacy educator…my grandmother, mother, aunts, sisters, and I have dedicated our lives to improving our communities through education. I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Economics from Fort Valley State University and completed my middle grades certification in math and science at Mercer University. After several years of teaching, I attended Cambridge College in Cambridge, Massachusetts to complete a Master of Education degree.
My teaching experience spans 22 years in Bibb County as a science teacher at McEvoy Middle School, Ballard-Hudson Middle School, and Bloomfield Middle School. While at Southwest High School, I served as the Graduation Coach and worked diligently to ensure that each senior developed a graduation plan which also included their post-secondary plans.
My proudest recognition was being honored as 13 WMAZ's My Teacher is Tops and being nominated for National Life Group’s Life Changer of the Year Award for my work with preparing students for graduation.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading cookbooks and trying new recipes on the weekends. However, my most amazing moments are spent with my family and watching the antics of my nieces and nephews Chance, Charleigh, Cadance, and Clarence, IV.
I am honored to join the Howard Middle School team as an assistant principal and I look forward to helping students and teachers reach their fullest potential.
