GA Promise Scholarship Students

Bibb County School District (BCSD) will support students participating in the SB10 and SB233 scholarship programs who requests to take Georgia state assessments. The state assessments applicable for this opportunity include Georgia Alternate Assessment (GAA 2.0- students with significant cognitive disabilities) and the Georgia Milestones Assessment System (GMAS) for End-of-Course (EOC- high school) and End-of-Grade (EOG- grades 3-8) assessments. 

State Assessment Guidelines

1) Parent/Legal Guardian must submit a request form for scholarship student participation in state testing at least eight weeks prior to the start of the applicable state assessment window to the resident school (zoned school within BCSD), testing site, or the Research, Evaluation, Assessment and Accountability (REAA) office.

Parent/Guardian Request Forms 

2) Resident school and/or testing site must hold a parent/legal guardian meeting (phone or in person) to review and  establish state approved testing accommodations (if applicable) and establish a Campus Service Plan Agreement for State Testing to administer the state assessment at least four weeks prior to the start of the state testing window. 

All documentation as outlined in SB10 and SB233 must be submitted with the parent request form. If the student has an IEP or Section 504 Plan, the student’s parent/guardian must submit the following documentation with the parent request form:  

  • IEP/504 Individual Service Plan (One of the following): 

  • Current IEP and/or Section 504 Plan from student’s school district; or 

  • Service plan from current private school on school letterhead and signed by principal/director/headmaster that outlines the accommodations the private school affords the student in instruction and assessment; or 

  • Service plan from current non-public school that provides evidence of the type of accommodations and rationale for each accommodation; or 

  • If a parent/legal guardian requests their student to participate in the GAA 2.0, the parent/legal guardian must also provide evidence that the student is eligible to participate in this assessment. 

All state assessments for GA Promise Scholarship Students will be held at VIP Academy.
