Board Tentatively Approves Millage Rate

Board Tentatively Approves Millage Rate

The Bibb County Board of Education has tentatively adopted a millage rate that will maintain last year’s rate of 14.674 mills. Because of changes in the tax digest, this will reflect an increase of 9.33 percent over the rollback rate.

All concerned citizens are invited to one of the public hearings on this matter. These hearings will be held at the Bibb County School District Central Office on September 2, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. and on September 9, 2026, at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

This decision results in an increase of 1.252 mills above the roll-back rate. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $225,000 is approximately $103.92 for the year, and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $225,000 is approximately $112.68.
