Welcome to the Certification Office of the Human Resources Department.

 Re-certification/Renewal Requests  

Certificate Renewals are processed annually beginning in the month of November for those with certificates expiring in the upcoming year.  The re-certification process is detailed below:

  1. HR distributes renewal packets to the schools.  Renewal packets are submitted to the School Principals via email.  Packets include a re-certification list of educators and paraprofessionals with certificates expiring on June 30th of the upcoming year, a Background Authorization form, a Verification of Lawful Presence Affidavit and login/registration instructions for MyPSC to submit personal affirmation questions (PAQs).
  2. Schools will distribute renewal documents and instructions to those employees on the list provided in the renewal packet.  Employees will initial as having received their renewal paperwork.  
  3. Return completed renewal paperwork.  Employees will return completed renewal forms to their School Principal or their designee.  The School Principal will collect completed packets for all staff members listed and return completed forms to the Human Resources Department via pony mail.  Employees no longer located at the school should be noted on the list provided and a copy of the list returned with the completed paperwork.  

Once completed packets are received by Human Resources, receipt is documented, completion of PAQs is verified and the renewal request is made to GaPSC via expresslane.  Background Authorizations are sent to Campus Police for retrieving background information.  Employees with information found in their background are referred to the Executive Director of Personnel. The HR Certification Administrator processes renewals for certificated and paraprofessional employees.

Your official college transcripts reflecting degree date
and major (Digital transcripts will not be accepted by the
PSC unless they are sent by email directly to me at

communication regarding your certification with the Georgia Professional
Standards Commission.
