Welcome to Lewis Henry Williams Elementary School, where children and their needs are our priority. The high expectations we have established are of the utmost importance for our students to meet the standards of excellence that we aspire them to achieve. Effective communication, respect for each other, fairness, and consistency are the foundation of our culture and climate.

The mission of Lewis Henry Williams Elementary School is to help students build strength of character and become college/career ready. We will accomplish our mission by expecting excellence every day, utilizing effective teaching strategies, technology, and by differentiating instruction to meet the individual needs of students; promoting an atmosphere of compassion and understanding based on communication and collaboration among teachers, students, and parents; and utilizing the community as a valuable resource.

The faculty and staff at Lewis Henry Williams Elementary School collaborate with parents and community stakeholders in an effort to achieve our educational goals and mission. We welcome the opportunity to continue to work closely with our school partners.

It is a pleasure to serve as the Instructional Leader for Lewis Henry Williams Elementary School. I am fortunate to be a part of a forward thinking school with committed teachers, parents, and community members to ensure we keep students and their needs first. I am a firm believer in the principles of "Efficacy" where building students’ confidence, instilling effective effort, and that if you work hard you get smart will help students become successful in life! Together we will make a difference in the lives of children.

    Dr. Shandrina Griffin-Stewart, Ed. D.
