    Teacher of the Year 2017-18!

    Westside is proud to present our Teacher of the Year for 2017-18, Ms. Apeksha Mehta!  Ms. Mehta is our Math Department Chair, and has an exemplary background with multi-national educational experience.  She consistently implements student-focused instruction with an unwavering commitment to high expectations for student achievement and success.  Her collaborative contributions bring a constant flow of fresh ideas and applications for instructional technology that benefit both her math colleagues and the entire teaching staff.  Her contribution to school and community organizations and educational initiatives is a model for all members of the educational profession.  Please join us in recognizing this outstanding educator’s contribution to Westside’s students, staff, and stakeholders!

  • Summer Opportunity Program Registration

    May 15 >> 5:00 to 7:00 PM

    May 22 >> 5:00 to 7:00 PM

    Registration for the Summer Opportunity Program 2017 will be held on May 15th and May 22nd from 5-7pm in the Westside High School Rotunda and Media Center. Stakeholders can choose the date that is convenient for them. There is no cost for summer school, however, a $10 donation at the time of registration is requested. Funds will be used for the sole purpose of PBIS Incentives for Summer Program students. Students who had failing grades on their most recent progress report are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to register for this opportunity to repair or recover credit. The program will run from 8am-4pm, Monday through Thursday, on June 5th-29th. Transportation will be available; breakfast and lunch will be provided.

    Students are asked to leave backpacks, bookbags, tote bags, sports packs, gym bags, and large purses at home for the remainder of the school year.  Help us ensure a safe and orderly finish to the school year!

    Dress to Impress

    Starting this Fall each Monday and Wednesday at WHS, students will Dress for Success >< Dress to Impress. This is a requirement for all students who are a part of Athletics, Beta, DECA, FBLA, TSA, National Honor Society, Student Council, Yearbook, Academic Team, Band, Drill Team, Drama, Math Team, SAAB, and Mod Squad. We want ALL students to Dress to Impress as well! Higher expectations for our students!

  • Star Student 2016-17

    Westside is proud to present our Star Student for 2016-17, Mr. Jacob Mulli.  Pictured here at the BCSD Star Student banquet with his mother Ms. Nancy Midimmo (C), Senior Counselor Ms. Cathy Denson (R), and Principal Dr. Julia Daniely (standing). Jacob Mulli, a dual enrollment student who has a love for mathematics plans to attend Columbia University in the fall and major in Statistics. Jacob selected his AP Calculus teacher, Ms. Avila, as STAR teacher. Ms. Avila currently lives in another city and was not able to attend.

    Mr. Dominique V. Nichols

     Dominique V. Nichols

    This exemplary educator is a former Westside student who has returned to develop his career as a professional educator.  His academic portfolio includes a Bachelor of Arts in English from Fort Valley State University, followed by a Master of Arts in Teaching at Georgia College and State University.

    His personal leadership and motivational skills have quickly led him to Language Arts Department Chair, Westside’s Leadership Team, as well as organizational and leadership responsibility for many special programs at Westside.  Mr. Nichols maintains high personal standards, as well as high academic standards for his students, as he states “I believe in the capabilities of ALL students and I am persuaded that ALL students can learn.”
